Blood Moon bathes Bob Benson, ’66 Stadium

Mr. Cassler, Adviser

Well, not really, but it sort of looks like it!

Following a long time inkling to capture a blood moon on camera, Mr. Cassler spent some time out on his driveway on the evening of January 20, 2019, to capture a good image of the first and only blood moon of the year.

The image of just the moon (stars included…if you look closely) is the original image, and with the amazing aid of Photoshop, the moon is stacked in one shot with the oak trees above the driveway, and in the other shot, our venerable Bob Benson, ’66 Stadium.

The Jan. 21 total lunar eclipse will be the last one until May 2021, and the last one visible from the United States until 2022; the most recent total lunar eclipse previous to this one appeared in July 2018.
