Dodgeball tournament goes down to the wire

Delayed a week because of the arctic blast, the dodgeball tournament between homerooms is already in it’s championship stage. It is to be played the Tuesday following a well-deserving spring break for students.

Ali Goljahmofrad, Dean of Students, talks about the tournament, its progression, and impact on the student environment.

“The last round was each respective homeroom semi-final round,” Goljahmofrad explains. “It went amazing,” he added. The results of the round were as follows: Bradford beat Hanson, Cassler beat Solis, Uriegas beat Oropez, Darcey beat Mendez, McCarthy beat Villalpando, and Ruby beat Hoenigman.

“In each respective homeroom, we are going to play the final now, and then once we have the champions from the three homerooms, we’ll do a round robin-type tournament to crown the school-wide champion,” Goljahmofrad explains.

Goljahmofrad was stunned when asked himself to predict who might win the tournament. He refused to make any predictions, and instead, he said, “There were definitely stronger teams than some homerooms classes.” He explains that a lot of that was due to the number of students and whether or not they were there on a certain game day or not.

So a champion will be crowned in the upcoming weeks, as the last few teams play their remaining games to ultimately make their way to the top.
