Considered a Five Nights at Freddy’s rip-off, Willy’s Wonderland is actually a pretty good movie. While it does have some of the same essence as Five Nights at Freddy’s such as the killer animatronics, it has some originality to make it it’s own and I really like that.

After his car breaks down, a quiet drifter agrees with the owner to clean up his defunct family restaurant Willy’s Wonderland if his car gets repaired. When he stays the night he starts to realize that the animatronic mascots have become vicious and start to play a deadly game of cat and mouse.

I had no idea Nicholas Cage was in this movie and was surprised that he didn’t say any lines within the movie and how well they pulled that off. I also like the atmosphere in the restaurant as it was creepy and kept me on my toes most of the time. What I thought went well was its opening as it foreshadowed what you are expecting out of the movie from that scene alone. Something else that was good in Willy’s Wonderland was when it got into the backstory of the restaurant; it gave off exposition in such a natural way,

There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like in the movie. I guess what I wasn’t interested in was the teenagers, but I figured they were just cannon fodder for the animatronics so it wasn’t really a big deal. Overall this movie is really enjoyable to those who like horror movies or just want to watch something on the weekend I recommend it.
