Ceremony celebrates Central’s Eagle Scouts
April 29, 2021
The Central Catholic Class of 2021 Eagle Scouts had a recognition and celebration ceremony in the historic Alumni Gym on April 28 to honor this year’s senior class scouts.
Mr. Mike De Los Santos, the CEO of the Alamo Area Council, delivered an address as well as some congratulatory remarks for the group of Eagle Scouts. During the ceremony, the scouts in attendance took the opportunity to present some of the projects that they worked on and completed in order to gain the rank of Eagle Scout.
This year’s Class of 2021 Eagle Scouts being recognized are: Ian Doran, Logan Jaros, Aaron Loeffler, Gabriel Mejia, III, Diego Mendez, Matthew Morita, James Nanthikattu, Joey Nino, Robert Redman, Justin Rodriguez, Parker Stepan, Nicholas Whelan, and Patrick Zertuche. The eagle scout certification is earned by these students at different times during their school years, some going as far back as eighth grade.
One of this year’s recognized seniors, Matthew Morita, earned his eagle scout certification during his sophomore year. He had this to say about what the achievement meant to him: “Getting my Eagle Scout showed me how much I’ve grown since starting scouting in 5th grade and that as a high schooler, I now had the capabilities to plan, finance, and carry out an event that would benefit the community. ”
Congratulations to these seniors, and kudos for these well earned and deserved recognitions.
