The Spurs Begin the Rodeo Road Trip
February 11, 2017
The San Antonio Spurs kicked off their annual Rodeo Road trip on Monday, February 6, and they have a record of 1-1. The Spurs lost the first game of the road trip to the Memphis Grizzlies without star player Kawhi Leonard. David Lee led the team with 16 points and Dewayne Dedmon had 12 rebounds. The team scored 74 points while shooting 36.6%.
The Spurs bounced back to beat the Philadelphia 76ers two days later. Kawhi Leonard had a game high 32 points while shooting 50%, Dewayne Dedmon led the team again with 11 rebounds. Danny Green added 11 including 3 of 4 three pointers. San Antonio shot 50% from beyond the arc and 52.7% total. Philadelphia handed the Spurs problems as San Antonio turned the ball over a whopping 15 times. In this game the Spurs shot the lights out. However, the Sixers refused to back down. The game remained close until Danny Green hit a crucial three pointer to put the Spurs up by eleven with two minutes left in the game. After a difficult game, the Spurs beat the Sixers 111-103.
The Spurs play their third game on Friday, February 10, against the Detroit Pistons. The game tips off at 6:30 Central Time. The Spurs are the favorites to win. Kawhi Leonard will have his hands full as he is guarding the Pistons top scorer, Tobias Harris. Hopefully the Spurs can snatch another win on this Rodeo road trip. Go Spurs Go!
