Central Football Against Navarro: Preview to Game

Paul Witt, Staff Writer

The Central Catholic football team will be facing 4A public school super power at Bob Benson 66’  Stadium this Friday September 30th. The theme for Section R is “workout” and there has not been a home game in over three weeks, so the student body is anxiously waiting for the game.

Now to break down the matter, rumors are flying around the school that this Friday’s game is going to be the biggest challenge of the season, and some of the students have expressed concern that the football team will not be able to contend with the powerful Navarro team. Other faithful students firmly believe that Central not only can contend but can overpower the Navarro  super team.

When interviewed, senior captain Thomas Palomera expressed “I know there’s many people worried about players being injured and out for the game, but I think when it comes down to it, it’s sixty minutes of football and we can’t worry about how much bigger and faster they are.”  Thomas also went on to say that he, along with the team, have been heavily focused this entire week. He and the team have been intensely studying film, fiercely practicing plays, and have done everything else to prepare for this game.

The team will have a true challenge tonight, but the school believes that the football team will prevail. Now it is just a matter of waiting until kick-off.
