Marotta Makes Mark as New Brigade Commander
April 16, 2016
On April 13, Cadet Captain Michael Marotta was selected to serve as the JROTC Corps of Cadets Brigade Commander for the 2016-2017 school year.
Each year, with the anticipation of JROTC Senior Cadets graduating, opportunities arise for the Junior class of Cadets to advance to higher levels of leadership. Leadership positions, such as the Brigade Commander, the Deputy Brigade Commander, and the Brigade Command Sergeant Major, are just a few positions within the Corps of Cadets that will be vacated by graduating Seniors.
On April 13th a selection committee was established to interview cadets who desired to be selected as next year’s Brigade Commander. Part of the selection process also included recommendations by the outgoing Seniors and returning Juniors, as well as the Army Instructors, and after all the interviews and deliberation among acting cadets, instructors, and commanders, Cadet Captain Michael Marotta was selected to serve as the JROTC Corps of Cadets Brigade Commander for the 2016-2017 school year. Other cadets selected for leadership positions include Cadet Captain Gabe Fernandez, who was selected to serve as the Deputy Commander, and Julia Bruce (Providence HS), who was selected to serve as the Corps Command Sergeant Major – marking the first time in CCHS JROTC Corps history that a female cadet has held that position.
We sincerely and respectfully congratulate all the nominees for an outstanding performance during the selection process and look forward to their leadership within the Corps of Cadets, now and in the coming 2016-2017 school year.
