Raiders rep JROTC at NEISD Raider Challenge

The JROTC Raiders team showed up in fine form on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the NEISD annual Urban Raider Challenge that is held at the NEISD obstacle course located near Wurzbach Parkway and Perrin Beitel Road.

The CCHS JROTC Raiders took 1st Place in 4 of the 5 events and took 3rd place in 1 event
earning the team a 1st place Overall in their category. The Central Catholic JROTC Raiders will bring in 6 trophies for this event.

The Raiders compete as a team of 8 members in a number of physically challenging competitions that include the obstacle course, the rope bridge, the cross country rescue, and the physical fitness event. Team members are highly competitive as they work to maintain the best and fastest possible times in each of the physically demanding and challenging events.

CPT Dwayne Rhodes, Army Instructor and moderator for the Raiders, had this to say about their impressive performance at the NEISD Urban Challenge: “I’m extremely proud of these young cadets who have worked so hard to perfect their skills as a Raiders Team”. He added that, “They performed at a level that I’ve never seen them perform at before this competition, and the motivation of these cadets is off the charts”.
