Mr. Jason Longoria, ’96, speaks to the 2016 Senior class during the Senior Luncheon.

Jason Longoria is a Central Catholic Graduate from theclass of 1996. He was an honors student, a JROTC officer (Company Commander), and participated in baseball, football, and track (where he was a state finalist in the 400m run). He is a graduate of St. Mary’s University where he earned a BA in History/Political Science. He has been an active member of the St. Mary’s University Alumni Association and currently serves as President. Jason is also a member of the St. Mary’s Univ. Board of Trustees. He has been part of the Fiesta Oyster Bake Committee for 18 years and served as Oyster Bake Chair for the 95th anniversary in 2011. He also came on board to our Central Catholic Alumni Association 2 years ago and now enters his second year being a member of our Board of Directors.

As for his career, in 2004, he was hired by then SBC and now AT&T, as part of a nationwide class of 30 people for the selective Leadership Development Program. In his 12 years at AT&T, Jason has managed a call center in California; led a crew of installation & repair technicians that were the tops in the San Antonio area in all performance metrics; and worked on direct marketing tactics for the African American, Asian, and Hispanic customer. Jason and his team created the social media presence for AT&T Latino at a time when no other major tele-communications company was looking at social media. Today, those pages have over 540K followers and over 10 million views. His current role is in Diversity Marketing for the DIRECTV & U-verse product improving customer experience and bringing more in-language programming to the Video on Demand, TV Everywhere, and Over-the-Top platforms.

At CCHS, Jason Longoria was one of those quiet leaders. He was reserved, never bragged; but when he spoke, people listened. This is what sets him apart from others. He is a great listener that takes in every word that is communicated. Takes the time to think it out; then delivers either an idea or solution that makes everybody feel part of it.

Jason simply has a gift of bringing people together. In his own way, he has been forming friendships, building community, and strengthening the brotherhood since he first stepped into our hallways with no connections to catholic middle schools, skinny, 115 pound freshman that wore the roundest glasses I had ever seen in 1992.
